The full title: "Shallow King and a Perfect Girl." This remains one of my favorites. "I can't baby-sit your emotions!" That's pretty good... My Dad unknowingly gave me the line "grocery bag suitcase" so I still associate that part with him when I play or perform it. "And baby this ain't no love song"... What can I say? I really like it. It's another one of those pieces that means as much today as it did back when I wrote it. Unlike some of my other works, I still remember the circumstances and what was going on with me at the time, back in the early eighties.
