Joe Lee Parker

I wrote this piece in October of '09. It's one of my most recent finished compositions. It started with the phrase "This is the Day the Lord Made." I saw it on the back of a yard-cleaning van on the way back from the vet. It happened to be a hand written bumper sticker. I thought for sure it was a message and felt it would make a good song title. It's a far distance from a single phrase to a finished song but in this case, it came all at once. Always a good omen! I often use it to open my set as it helps to center me and the piece flows along without much extra effort.
